 Dear Marc Miller

I have played the Imperium [CFC1977/GDW1979, 1990] a lot over the years.
It is one of the best games I have ever played.
I think the game has same vague passages in the rules.
I would be happy to answer my following questions.
I would like to receive you're reply by e-mail.

 Q. When do space ships move from surface box to stellar hex?
Which is the movement Sub-light Movement or Hyper-space jump?

 Q. The Fighters cannot be Sublight Movement and Hyperspace jump.
What may the Fighters be move in movement phase?

 Q. The Fighters require a base before they may operate.
  When do the requirement checks?
What means the operation, moves and/or combat?

 Q. In space combat, which player propose first declaration of break-off?

 Q. Is the surface combat Must attack or May attack?

I would like to read a report "Tactics in Imperium by Phil Kosnett" in The
Grenadier Vol.1-No.2. Do you have it?

 Sincerely

 Kazu Ueda

I am pleased to provide you with answers to your questions. Although I
believe that they are authoritativ, I have not played this game for several
 years.

 Sincerely,

 Marc Miller

Space ships move from the surface box to the stellar hex in the planetary
 surface/space interaction phase.

 > Which is the movement Sub-light Movement or Hyper-space jump?

I do not understand this question.

 > Q. The Fighters cannot be Sublight Movement and Hyperspace jump.
 > What may the Fighters be move in movement phase?

The fighters must always be in the same stellar hex unless they are carried
 to another using a carrier.

 > Q. The Fighters require a base before they may operate.
 > When do the requirement checks?
 > What means the operation, moves and/or combat?

Fighters may not move to other stellar hexes unless carried by a carrier.

 > Q. In space combat, which player propose first declaration of break-off?

Either side may declare it is breaking off at the beginning of a combat
 round.

 > Q. Is the surface combat Must attack or May attack?

 It is Must attack.

 Dear Marc.

Thank you very mach. My questions were almost clear.
The second question answer included in the first question one.

 Q. The Fighters require a base before they may operate.
   When do the requirement checks?
What means the operation, moves and/or combat?
Ex. Carriers jump to enemy system. In space combat phase,
the carriers destroyed but fighters are alive.
 When the fighters stop operations?
The answer is, in just moment, end of space combat sub-phase,
end of this combat phase or end of this turn.

 Q. In space combat, which player propose first declaration of break-off?
Either side may declare it is breaking off at the beginning of a combat
 round.
Which side declare first, phase player or non-phase player?

 P.S.
I tried to buy "The Classic Adventures(1-13)" in Japanese shop.
The shop manager said "The book was out of stock in the maker".

I would like to buy the book payment through VISA.
But I would like to do not using PayPal.
Please send me a good suggestion.

 Sincerely

 your adhesion Kazu Ueda

 Dear Marc.

I tried to understand your answer.
But I did not understand one answer. Please send your comments.

 Q. When do space ships move from surface box to stellar hex?
Space ships move from the surface box to the stellar hex in the planetary
 surface/space interaction phase.
In Reaction Combat. I think reaction force and ships in surface box attack
to enemy ships. I played same manner in 1st and 2nd Space combat.
In space combat phase, a system included enemy ships in the stellar hex and
friendly ships in the surface box. Your answer suggest that the friendly
force may not attack to the enemy ships.
 Is that right?

 Sincerely

 Kazu Ueda
